I worked as the video editor for this local icecream shop advertisement alongside a student cinematographer, director, and writer. Our purpose was to convey the welcoming atmosphere that so many MSU students and nearby families are drawn to at Tasty Twist on Grand River Avenue in East Lansing, MI. Despite receiving beautiful footage of the creamery, one challenge I faced as the editor was figuring out how to compensate for our poor audio quality. I resorted to using subtitles in case viewers couldn't understand the speakers over the traffic or hum of the icecream machines, but I spent time searching for a playful font which suited the tone of the video and business. In the end I'm satisfied with our final product, with how we collaborated as a team, and I'm glad that we could learn how to improve our production process along the way with this project.
